The book I read was Craig & Fred: A Marine, A stray Dog, And How They Rescued Each Other.

This was about Craig, the Marine, and a stray dog, Fred, who meet in Afghanistan and instantly love each other. This book was more of a memoir nonfiction book. It talked about Craigs life during his time in Afghanistan and after he comes home/5.

Craig is a very friendly and personable guy, someone Iâ d love to have a beer with. Fred isâ ¦well, he is a lovable fur ball, and mostly snoozed under the table, but I think he enjoyed getting his ears scratched.

And now, he’s written his first book, Craig & Fred, telling the story of how it all came to be—how, in between fighting the Taliban, he struck up a friendship with a stray dog he’d seen nosing around his unit’s compound, and sealed the deal with a piece of beef jerky.

Their story of mutual rescue is inspiring and also enlightening. Craig’s mission is to bring Fred, the lovable Afghan dog, to the United States. Fred’s mission is to be a loyal and comforting friend for Craig.

With time spent in Afghanistan, traveling the United States afterwards, and some reflections of the past, Grossi shares a story that will touch the hearts of many. This true story of a man and his dog will uplift and inspire with its message of the power of love and its ability to change lives.

Sergeant Craig Grossi was doing intelligence work for Marine RECON—the most elite fighters in the Corps—in a remote part of Afghanistan when he met Fred. With the help of many friends, Craig was able to keep Fred and then bring him home with him.

Part of the book is also about a road journey across the U.S. that Craig and Fred take with Craig’s friend, Josh, also a veteran. I loved this part of the book as well because it’s kind of a journey of self discovery in that Craig has to figure out what he wants to do with his life now that he’s finished with combat and unsure whether a.
